The Oyster River Cooperative School Board has been named the 2006 School Board of Excellence.

This prestigious award, given by the New Hampshire School Boards Association (NHSBA), is an annual award that recognizes a school board in New Hampshire that has excelled in leadership to its constituents, staff, and students.

In presenting the Excellence Award to the Board at its meeting on May 17, NHSBA President Susan Allen noted that "it is hard to imagine that any board in our State was faced with more challenges in one year than were faced by the Oyster River School Board." President Allen further noted that "the Oyster River School Board stands as a beacon for what school board service is all about - rising to challenges, promoting and leading community outreach and engagement, and providing positive direction to move forward."

The Oyster River School Board will be formally recognized for this achievement at the 13th Annual Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony, to be held on Saturday, June 10, in Manchester. For more information, please contact NHSBA Executive Director Ted Comstock, at 228-2061.
